I think we can all agree that plants are powerful. Over the years, I have reframed the way I approach health, especially when it comes to food. I’ve made it a point to include more immunity boosting, antioxidant rich meals in my rotation and this high protein smoothie is so good, it’s will be a regular on the menu.
Not only is this superfood smoothie a convenient grab and go option, but it’s also nutrient dense which supports all things health which I prioritize more and more at this stage of my life.
Frozen dark cherries are a highly anti inflammatory and antioxidant rich food. Chia seeds are also really high in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids and protein. The chia seeds and flax seed meal double up to give you all the fiber to support healthy digestion, regularity and satiety. If you know me, you know I love a smoothie with some protein. I always top this muscle building superfood concoction off with a serving of chocolate plant based protein powder. Trust me, this is one of the easiest, indulgent and satisfying immunity boosting meal replacement options for everyone…even little ones.
Ingredients
- 3 oz dark frozen cherries
- 1 scoop chocolate vegan protein powder
- 1 tsp dark unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 Tbsp flax seed meal
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- Stevia/sugar free sweetener
- ice
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend to desired consistency. Pour smoothie into a large drinking glass, and enjoy immediately.
